Muranga is an important agricultural town in central and southern Kenya. Not only the volcanic soil layer to provide nutrients for crops, but also five important rivers in central and southern regions (River Maragua, River Mathioya, River Kayahwe, River Irati, River Muriurio) provide excellent conditions to help tea and coffee growing. The natural fertile volcanic soil creates the thick, full-bodied, dark berry flavour of traditional Kenya coffee in this area.
