Jose Hernan, came to La Pradera as coffee picker 25 years ago, worked in it later as administrator, and as a result of his work for 15 years, finally with the help of his family, he could buy the farm. Since then he has dedicated his job to produce special coffees, and now he is happy to venture into the new honey and natural benefit techniques.

 

Hernán remembers to have dedicated himself to work in the coffee industry, his grandfather and his father taught him how to produce it; As a young man, he was a coffee picker and use to move in different departments together with the harvests.

 

La pradera has the rainforest certification and has been part of the national coffee excellency cup in 2009 and 2015.

The outer skin and the pulp of coffee cherries are removed, the mucilage is left on the parchment to fermentation and dry.

Description Process

Cherries are lefe in fermentation tanks for some hours, it allow the green bean to absorb some of the flavours on the mucilage, pulp and outer skin, then dry the beans till ideal moisture content. Wahsed process usually bring out the brightness and clean cup of coffee beans.
