The Gichugune factory was registered in early 1950 and is one of four wet mills managed by the Katheri Farmers Cooperative (FCS), with 2,200 farmers.
 
 Mr Ikiara is is the chair man of the 7-person management which committee to high standards of coffee cultivation, he also regularly trains employees to test the pH of the soil and adds organic fertilizers, which is quite rare in Kenya. all his efforts reflect the coffee quality of Gichugune Factory.
